In Love with Running Wild by KA Tucker

Whenever I’m asked who is an auto-buy author for me, I always respond with, K.A. Tucker and her latest installment of the Wild series, Running Wild is exactly why.

I am not able to convey or do justice in reviewing Running Wild, but in layman’s terms, I absolutely loved it. I never wanted the story to end and it was quite difficult for me to put it down.

Seeing Marie’s relationship and friendship with Jonah through her eyes was wonderful as it helped understand Marie’s perspective. I loved that she was a mature adult character who was so relatable by simply wanting to find love, a family of her own and yearning to be a mother. And can I just say I also loved that she was older than some of the men she was dating because, hello, it's 2022!

And as with maturity and being an older character, it tends to include experiences that characters need to work through, as was evident with Tyler’s grief over his wife. I appreciated the depth of his character and how his grief posed as a challenge but an opportunity for his relationship with Marie by helping them grow together, while overcoming their own internal conflicts and insecurities. Boy does Tucker have a way of making the male love interests of her romances as an addition to my list of book boyfriends.

All in all, Running Wild was a delight to read as it tied up some loose ends in the series and offered conclusions. It was heart wrenching and heart melting and I was sad to put it down when I was finished.

Thank you Valentine PR for the advanced reader’s copy. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Book Description

From the internationally bestselling author of The Simple Wild comes the story of a woman at a crossroads in her life, struggling between the safe route and the one that will only lead to more heartbreak.

Veterinarian Marie Lehr knows unrequited love all too well after pining for her best friend, only to watch him marry another woman. It’s a mistake she will never make again, especially not when she can practically hear the clock ticking on her childbearing years.

The trouble is, she can’t seem to find anyone who appeals to her even a fraction as much as that burly bush pilot did. Competitive musher Tyler Brady certainly doesn’t, especially not after the heated altercation with the handsome but arrogant, spiteful man.

Or so she thinks.

While volunteering at the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, Marie discovers that first impressions may have been false, and her attraction to Tyler is very real. But his heart belongs to someone else, leaving him with nothing to offer but friendship. Marie’s been down this road before and knows how that ends. Yet, no matter how hard she works to keep from falling for Tyler, it seems she’s doomed to follow her own trail once again.
